Practical AI Adoption: Start Where the Pain Is

AI initiatives stall when scope outruns clarity. Pick one painful process, instrument it, and ship a focused solution before expanding.

Teams often ask “where should we apply AI?” before asking “what is the most expensive manual process we run today?” Start with the second question.

A simple framework

  1. Find the pain — high-volume, rule-heavy, error-prone work.
  2. Instrument first — measure baseline cost, time, error rate.
  3. Ship narrow — one workflow, one team, one quarter.
  4. Expand only after measurement — improvement must be visible in metrics.

What we avoid

Big-bang transformations. Anything that needs more than 90 days to show value. Solutions in search of a problem.
